THE STORY

Filmmaker Dan Edelstyn became obsessed with a manuscript he discovered in the attic of his mother’s house. It was written by his grandmother – Maroussia Zorokovich who had fled the Russian Revolution.

In 2008 Dan went off to Ukraine in search of his Ukrainian Jewish routes and found more than he could have imagined – a spirits distillery originally opened by his great grandfather Ilya in 1904, but confiscated by the Bolsheviks in 1917.

It was a golden opportunity for an incredible documentary film, as well as the beginning of the Zorokovich adventure!
